International Fishing Passport Requirements

A passport is NOT REQUIRED unless we are fishing near the Mexican coast or near any of their offshore islands. Offshore Mexico fishing, outside of 12 miles from any land, a passport is NOT required.

For fishing trips operating within 12 miles of the Mexican coast or any of their islands (Coronado Islands), a Mexican Tourist Visa (FMM) is required. San Diego Charters provide the FMM for all Coronado Islands charters. The process for issuing an FMM requires that the applicant to submit valid International or U.S. Passport Book or US Passport Card to our office 3 days prior to departure.
